You may wish to use your vessel for different trip types, lengths or locations.  For example, you might want to list it sometimes for "Recreational Boating" only other times for "Fishing" only.  You may also want a listing for when you use your vessel in the ocean and one for when you go on the river.

You can simply edit your listing and change these settings for each trip.  This works well as long as you do not have any future bookings for the vessel.  Remember that future bookings have been made on what you had in your listing at the time of the booking and changing details after taking a booking is not fair on Crew that have booked seats.

If you want to be able to have future bookings with different trip types, lengths or locations the easiest way to do this is to make multiple listings for the same boat but have different settings for:

  • Trip Duration
  • Trip Type
  • Locations
  • Tell people more about your trip
  • Location

Example

I have a boat listing called "Wave Rider".  Sometimes I will list this as "Fishing Only" (for ocean fishing) and sometimes I will list it as "Recreational Boating Only" (for river trips).  My boat takes bookings in advance for these different trip types so to make it easier I will create two listings that are identical except for the trip type.

This will allow Crew to filter searches and have my vessel available.

Fishing Only

This listing will have all the same details except:

The "About" page will have details specific to the "Fishing Only" ocean trip.

The "Location" page will also have different information as I will be launching from a different area.

Recreational Boating Only

This listing will have all the same details except:

The "About" page will have details specific to the "Recreational Only" river trip.

The "Location" page will also have different information as I will be launching from a different area.

Note: When using multiple listings for the same boat, make sure you do not have it set to "Available" for the same days. This may result in overbooking your boat.

Handy Hint

When creating the second listing, copy and paste the details such as:

  • Description
  • Tell people more about your trip
  • Boat rules

from the first listing into a Word document so that you don't have to type them all out again.
